The Final Test.
Yes, I finally made it, I did it! I graduated in High School and I'm really proud that I surpassed the 4 years of challenging works, 4 years of hardwork, 4 years of mental thinking, 4 years of a little bit sacrifice from temptations, 4 years of fear that teachers might scold you for doing something. I surpassed the times when I often get a failing mark in the quizzes in Economics, the nosebleed lessons in Trigonometry and Physics, the confusing lessons in Advanced Algebra and Calculus, the moments I cram during night time just to finish my case analysis and projects, the times when I have a hard time catching my breath during CAT class, the times when I usually think on how to make the abstract and hypothesis of our Thesis, the moments when I sleep late just to study my lessons and the times when I stay away from the temptation of drinking and doing unnecessary stuff in public places like Smallville. Indeed, it was really a great and big sacrifice for me to stand up and control myself in whatever temptation that comes my way. Until now, I can't believe that I'm finally, a High School graduate of Assumption-Iloilo, an old AC girl. Actually, freedom is already here. It is really a big deal for us, Assumption girls, to march during the graduation day, to receive your diploma and to have your good moral certificate. Graduating, for us, is your greatest and biggest achievement in life.
I really don't want to graduate. I want to study still in Assumption but unfortunately, the campus here in Iloilo doesn't have a college. It's really hard to accept that you're transferring to another school after being at home in Assumption for 13 straight years (I'm a Loyalty Awardee). I can't do anything now but to accept that I'm a graduate. The time has finally arrived that I need to graduate, to leave Assumption, to look for another school and to study there. I finally arrived to the bus stop. The long journey has finally come to its end. The long wait is finally over. I finally reached my destination.
Being a graduate now of Assumption is a big challenge for me. I don't know what to be thankful for now but I just want to say THANK YOU for the people who made it possible fo me to study in Assumption and for giving me the gift of Assumption Education. I promise to myself to live out the values and teachings of St. Marie Eugenie of Jesus, our Mother Foundress. I will never forget the moments and the experiences I had with my batchmates. I will never forget the laughter and the tears, the music and the harmony, the ups and downs that bound us together. I will never forget the things that we would usually do in class which led us to the realization that life indeed is fundamentally good and that we are always the best in our own little way. Simple acts, simple gestures make our batch happy whenever we do something together.
I am proud to say that our batch is simple, unique, talented, musically-influenced and most of all, the best. People would often say that our batch doesn't show to people that we can do what we can and if they expect something from us, they believe that we can't prove them correct. I just want to say that they proved us wrong because we are not like that; we are truly women of faith and action. In short, we can show to people that we are great and we can show all the best in us. And as we step out of Assumption, we would always carry in us the values and teachings we have learned in our 4 years in High School. We are proud to say that we are truly the daughters of St. Marie Eugenie of Jesus and we are truly TATAK ASSUMPTION.
We may be leaving Assumption but deep in our hearts, our hearts still belong to Assumption for where we transformed into greater persons and our formation makes us stand tall. We may not be able to sing again the Assumption School Song, we would always remember--Fidelity to Duty, Love of Simplicity. Assumption truly made us perfect persons in our own little way.
To my dearest batchmates, I'm really proud of you. Thank you for the wonderful moments we had together. I really had so much fun. I'm happy and lucky that I met you and we became classmates, batchmates and friends. Thank you for accepting me for who I am. Thank you for helping me become e better person and for always telling me to become strong and to face the challenges in life and that fear is not the reason behind why I should turn back and give up. Take courage, soar high! In the spirit of courage, we rise! I will surely miss you. I really love you all. Hope to see you again soon. I will never ever forget you. Thank you for the friendship. I'm always here for you. Because as we go on, we remember all the times we spent together. And as our lives change, come whatever, we will still be friends forever. As we think, so it is! :)
