Summer Lovin' 2009

Okaaay. Since summer is finally closing and opening of classes is finally approaching, let me tell about my SUMMER. Gadd, damn summer.

On the first few weeks of summer, I just decided to spend most of my boring afternoons in SM or just stay home, in front of the TV or computer. It's quite confusing if you want to travel (go to different places and explore new adventures) or just want to stay home, like your a drop dead homebody. For me, I just want to kill the boredom. I mean, I just want to enjoy summer and I just want to enjoy life before college and set my mind for a not-so-fun experience in college life.

On the 30th of April, it was the day when I finally went to Manila with my lola. I was not that sure of going there because of the fact that I'll be leaving Iloilo (even for 10 days), miss people here and maybe, get homesick. On the next day, we headed off to Tagaytay for my lola's convention courtesy of her church organization. I got a bad mood or I say, I felt bad because of the signal there. The fact that I was far, far away and I did not even had the chance to communicate with the people here especially my friends. I need to go up the mountain just to get a signal and have the chance to communicate. I was a little bit lazy to go up because it was so tiring so I just ended up sleeping the whole day, thinking of what's happening in the outside world and even, talk to myself. There's no TV there and I did not bring my books, so I got a boring 3-day stay in Tagaytay.

When I went back to Manila, I was finally, happy! I got to meet or see my cousins again. I got my phone back, I mean, the signal. I had the chance to communicate with my friends again. The feeling that you are finally back is something nice, even if it was just a short while. Even in Manila, I admit that I got bored. I just went to Glorietta for nothing, I mean, eat lunch and then went back home and play Uno cards with my cousins. I thought, it will last for the whole afternoon. But the day finally ended when I got all damn wet in Enchanted Kingdom because of the Rio Grande Rapids. It was a day that at first, you thought that it would be boring but in the end, you'll just sigh and say "It was a nice day. I had fun!".

On Tuesday, it was the day I almost dreamt of. It was the day when I left for Hong Kong with my family. My trip to Hong Kong is the highlight of my summer 2009. It was my first time to go to the place out of the country. I was kinda excited for Disneyland and for the city tour. When I arrived in Hong Kong, I can't believe that I was finally there. I really need to adjust with the people, the weather, the place and even got to switch off my phone and let it be in my bag for 4 days because there's no signal there (my sim is not for roaming). I even got to wear a mask, just to stay away from the swine flu or H1N1 influenza. At first, I wasn't that comfortable when I rode the coach (that's the term they call the bus) because the driver's seat is on the right side. It was just like Manila because of the tall buildings with nice lights. But there were no homes there, instead they live in buildings, in tall, tall buildings. I just need to enjoy my short stay there.

During the city tour, I learned a lot of things about Hong Kong. I love the place because the people there are well disciplined and you'll just love the place because it's clean and there's no pollution. But I got a hard time talking to people there because only a few people know how to speak English, only the people who are working and the people who can afford to study English there. I even burst out in laughter because of how the Chinese speak in English, I can't understand, I only understand a few words. I was also inspired with the students there because they are really disciplined when it comes to education. After school hours, they immediately go home and study with their tutor and afterwards, they'll have dinner and sleep. They don't even have time to play or watch TV. All their life, they stay in school and study. I also love looking at the people there because of how they dress up, they really look nice and comfortable. I also enjoyed the tourist spots. The one I enjoyed most was when I rode the open top bus, it was nice and I never noticed the heat of the sun when I rode there. I also got to ride in their public bus and MTR.

Disneyland was the one I wanted. When I arrived there, I can't stop myself from taking lots of pictures. I saw lots of Disney characters during the Disney parade and I got the chance to watch The Golden Mickeys, a stage presentation which I enjoyed most. I also tried some of the rides there and went around in the whole Disneyland park. I ended up staying there for almost 6 hours and I did not even felt tired. The highlight of the Disneyland visit was the fireworks display. It was fantastic and I got to hear some of the Disney songs especially A Whole New World, which I love the most! It's just like I want to stay there and never return home. The feeling that you're like a princess there is never ordinary. I just want to say that my experience there was really great and fun. Being there is an experience that I will never forget.

Having been back in Manila is a nice experience too. My friends and some people were asking me if how was my Hong Kong vacation. It's nice to know that some misses you so much eventhough you were just out for 4 days only. Some even want to let me tell them the things I saw there and my experience in Disneyland. Some even want to see my pictures so I ended up uploading them in Friendster and maybe, soon in Facebook (So, better check my pictures in Hong Kong- during the city tour, Disneyland and in a short side trip in Manila Ocean Park. I uploaded them in Friendster). The experience was awesome!

Now, I'm here in Iloilo, finally enrolled in Central Philippine University. I will be taking B.S. Business Administration major in Marketing Management. I'm kinda excited but nervous to be in college. I set my mind to expect the worst things that will happen to me in college since it's not spoonfeeding anymore, I need to do things for myself. Right now, I'm just enjoying my life before college. It will be just a few days away from my first day in school. Well, I need to had much luck, kaya ko gd ni ang college!
